In addition to a few other Viking rangetop reviews here on our blog at Elite Appliance, we have just released a new video review of the Viking 36″ rangetop.
Our video review shows the powerful, professional-style rangetop set neatly in a marble countertop in our showroom, and we take a few moments to highlight some of the most notable features of this remarkable kitchen appliance.
Inspired by commercial kitchens, this Viking gas rangetop offers style and power often reserved for professional kitchens. The stainless steel appliance comes with heavy-duty stainless steel knobs positioned conveniently on the front of the rangetop, rather than on the top, which is customary for many residential cooktops.
The rangetop also features six burners that provide infinite heat settings up to impressively high levels. Five of the burners heat up to 15,000 BTUs, while the sixth burner, positioned in the front right, heats up to 18,000 BTUs. (One BTU heats one pound of water by about 1°F.) This level of power is rare in a residential kitchen.
However, Viking makes sure its burners are still safe, practical and convenient for the home chef. While the rangetop mirrors commercial rangetops in many ways, Viking makes a distinction with the burners on its 36″ rangetop: The burners are sealed rather than open. The sealed burners prevent crumbs and spillover from falling down into the appliance itself, and they are easy to clean with removable burner caps and burner heads. The cast-iron surface grates lift easily off the rangetop and may be soaked in soapy water, and the one-piece, porcelainized surface surrounding the burners is also easily removed for a quick cleaning when necessary.
Additionally, Viking has included two of its trademarked systems that make its burners so usable and reliable. The VariSimmer-to-High Pro Sealed Burner System ensures you can maintain steady heat at nearly any temperature – from a soft simmer to an intense searing. At the same time, the SureSpark Ignition System allows all burners to ignite easily every time, and it automatically reignites any burner that flickers out in the middle of cooking so you don’t have to worry about your pot losing heat when the flame is doused or flickers out.
The standard commercial-style rangetop comes with six burners. However, customers have the option of substituting the middle two burners with either a griddle/simmer plate or a char-grill. The thermostatically-controlled, griddle is constructed from commercial-grade stainless steel and ensures precise temperatures throughout the cooking process. The char-grill features a one-piece, porcelainized, cast-iron grate and flavor-generator plates that catch drips and circulate smoke around the food for added flavor.
Currently, these Viking gas rangetops come with a $200 instant rebate, so call us or come visit us at Elite Appliance soon to learn more about this outstanding appliance.
