Small Dishwashers

All kitchen appliances are important don’t get me wrong, but one of the most underrated and under appreciated is the dishwasher. This appliances works very hard and overtime you can expect some wear and tear so finding the right one is important. However, before you go shopping around to find one, you need to do some research and answer some questions. One question in particular that truly determines what kind of dishwasher you need is how much space do you really have for it?

If you end up not having much space, don’t worry. This is where small dishwashers come in handy! But don’t get discouraged, just because it might be a little smaller, doesn’t mean it won’t get the job done while also looking great.

Small dishwashers are considered anything smaller than 24 inches wide, but typically are around 18 inches. You can get them built in with your cabinets, attached by the sink, or even countertop models that sit on your kitchen counter. Several brands even allow you to choose customizable panels for blending in to their surrounding cabinets. Many brands have even added premium features on these small dishwashers, so they work just as well as their larger counterparts.

There are a few things to consider before buying a dishwasher regardless of the size such as how quiet it is, the cost, if its energy efficient and the various features it comes with.

Quietness

How quiet the dishwasher can be is one of the biggest factors to consider before purchasing one. We recommend finding a dishwasher around 44-48dB, because experts have found that this range allows for little disruption while performing daily activities around the kitchen and surrounding rooms.

Cost

Clearly no one wants to spend a crazy amount on a dishwasher so you really need to make sure to look around. Check multiple places, buy during holiday sales such as July 4th, Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc. Those holidays have great deals going on and can save you lots of money. The typical price range for a small dishwasher is around $600-$1,500.

Energy Efficiency

This factor is becoming more and more important to consumers so when shopping, try and find a dishwasher that has an Energy Star label. This means that it meets or exceeds the national standards. Finding an energy efficient dishwasher can save you money by lowering your energy use and water consumption.
