For years Miele has been recognized for its modern, minimal designs. Now the company has taken minimalism to a new level with an innovative line of appliances that relies on understated design and the purity and flexibility of white.

“Architects and designers have long revered the color white for its ability to harmonize and balance space,” the German appliance company said in a press release announcing the launch of its new Miele Brilliant White Plus appliances.
According to Miele, architect Mies van der Rohe turned to white as a central theme for his Farnsworth House – a stunningly sleek emblem in the world of contemporary architecture. It is this sentiment of minimalism, transparency and purity that Miele portrays in its Brilliant White Plus line.
Miele Brilliant White Plus offers both architects and homeowners a group of appliances that fits well into the repertoire of van der Rohe and other perpetrators of the white aesthetic.
In fact, according to Miele product manager, Dirk Sappok, the white designer appliances are a welcome and long-awaited resolution to many design challenges.

“Architects have wanted a white appliance design solution from Miele for a long time” Sappok said.
“The Brilliant White Plus Series tests the limits of design, demonstrating what can be achieved through color options that stimulate the imagination – the true embodiment of Immer Besser,” Sappok added.
The Brilliant White Plus line encompasses several kitchen appliances, including a 30″ convection oven, a speed oven, a steam oven, a whole bean coffee system, and a plate and cup warmer.
Miele exercised a discipline of continuity across the product line with clean lines, reflective white glass surfaces, chrome handles, and its proprietary intuitive Navitronic touch controls.

These characteristics allow the appliances to assimilate into any contemporary kitchen, setting a sleek, simplistic tone and then allowing the accompanying kitchen décor to direct the overall aesthetic appeal of the room.
For example, the Miele white oven features a clean exterior with clearly defined right angles, a white glass border around an oven window, an angular chrome handle and a black display for the Navitronic controls. The oven is then mounted flush with the surrounding wall for a look that is anything but obtrusive.
The oven and other Miele white appliances fit ideally into white surrounding cabinetry for a subtle look in a very utilitarian room. Homeowners or designers can then add a splash of color for a unique contrast.
