However, with Viking’s new nugget ice machine , you don’t have to leave home in quest of chewable ice. The Viking nugget ice maker delivers 80 pounds of ice in 24 hours – more than enough for even the most addicted chewable ice lover, and plenty for the holiday entertainer as well.

The Viking nugget ice machine is a panel-ready unit, meaning that it requires a door panel or custom cabinetry panel. The standard stainless steel door panel (model PIDP15) features a pro-style door handle, so it matches your accompanying Viking appliances. The sides are fully finished in stainless steel for freestanding presentation. Also, if stainless steel is not your style, you can opt for a custom panel to match surrounding cabinetry and appliances.

In keeping with Viking’s penchant for convenient, technologically advanced products, the residential nugget ice maker features LED lighting inside and an LED control panel that alerts you when it’s time to clean the machine or check the water. When it’s time to clean the machine, you can begin without even disconnecting the machine. When you’re finished, simply press the “Clean Reset” button, so you’ll know when it’s time to clean again.
The machine functions in temperatures ranging from 50°F to 100°F, and it is approved for outdoor use. Viking’s nugget ice machine also runs efficiently, requiring 50 percent less water and 40 percent less energy than its competitors.

Viking offers two different versions of its 15” nugget ice maker for home. The FGNI model requires access to a drain line that drains by gravity. If the ice maker will not be placed directly by a drain, Viking offers an external drain pump – like an extension cord – allowing you to place the machine where you want and pump the water to the drain.
However, the FPNI model includes a built-in drain pump, which can maneuver around obstacles to the nearest drainage plumbing in (or outside) your home. This feature makes the FPNI model ideal for many homes, allowing you to place the ice maker where you want without worrying about the nearest floor drain.
