The unit sits unassumingly behind an existing cooktop within a stainless steel setting, and only when needed, the Jenn-Air telescopic downdraft rises from beneath the countertop and draws steam and scents rising from the cooktop into its curved vent.
The unit is constructed from glass and stainless steel for a modern yet subtle appearance, and ambient LED light from the translucent glass softly illuminates the cooking surface when the ventilation system is in use. In order to maintain the elegance of the design, the controls are hidden. However, they remain conveniently in reach.
When summoned from beneath the countertop, the unique Jenn-Air downdraft vent rises a full 19 inches above the counter surface in order to absorb odors from the shallowest to the deepest cookware.

This Jenn-Air requires an external blower, model number UXI1200DYS (sold separately). The blower runs at an astounding 1,200 CFMs, meaning 1,200 cubic feet of air per minute is displaced by the fan blades.
